Why Goodwalk exists

Why the service was created

Alessandra created Goodwalk to offer the kind of dog walking service she wanted for her own dog: small groups, familiar handling and clear communication.

Dogs are matched by temperament, confidence, energy and social fit. Owners receive photos and updates after their dog goes out.

The aim is a routine your dog recognises and a weekday service you do not have to keep reorganising.

The standards behind each walk

Goodwalk uses calm handling, positive reinforcement, familiar routines and groups limited to 4–8 dogs.

Small groups allow closer supervision and more careful matching. Pickup and drop-off are included so owners do not need to add another trip to the working day.

Goodwalk holds public liability insurance and current pet first aid certification. If a service is not the right fit for your dog, we will recommend a different option.

  • Calm handling and positive reinforcement
  • Pickup and drop-off included
  • Pet first aid certified and publicly insured
  • Straight advice about whether the fit is right

Meet Aless, Goodwalk founder

Italian-born and based in Auckland Central, Alessandra founded Goodwalk and continues to lead the walking service.

Owners communicate directly with the person responsible for their dog, from the first Meet & Greet through to regular updates.

Her dog Maya, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel–Shih Tzu cross, helped shape Goodwalk’s focus on the pace, group dynamics and handling that suit smaller dogs.

FAQ

Questions about Goodwalk

Who walks my dog?

Alessandra founded Goodwalk and leads the walking service. Goodwalk uses familiar handling and direct communication so you know who is responsible for your dog.

Why do you specialise in small dogs?

Small dogs need different pace, different group dynamics, and different handling. Goodwalk was built around that, not adapted from a generic dog-walking model.

How big are your packs?

Pack walks are limited to 4 to 8 dogs. Smaller groups allow closer supervision and more careful matching.

What is a Meet & Greet?

A free introduction at your home. We meet your dog, discuss their routine and handling needs, and explain which service may suit them. There is no booking obligation.

What suburbs do you cover?

We cover most of Auckland Central including Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Mt Eden, Kingsland, Morningside, Sandringham, Mt Albert, Mt Roskill, Herne Bay, Freemans Bay, Pt Chevalier, Remuera, Greenlane, Onehunga, Balmoral, and more. If you are nearby and unsure, just ask.

Are your walkers insured and first-aid trained?

Yes. Public liability insurance and current pet first aid certificates. Your dog is covered from pickup to drop-off.

What does onboarding look like?

A free Meet & Greet at home, then a minimum of two assessment walks. We only confirm a regular slot once we know the fit is right for your dog and for the pack.
